FEATURES AND BENEFITS

  • 6, 12 and 16 cylinder manifold header options available in Brass, Stainless Steel and Monel 400 
  • Manifolds are available as a stand-alone item or with either permanent or replaceable rigid or flexible leads.
  • Additional options such as replaceable leads are also available
  • Every manifold assembly, including the leads, are 100% hydrostatically pressure tested to 1.5 times the MAWP and then 100% nitrogen leak tested.
  • Following the pressure test, each assembly is 100% oxygen cleaned, dried, bagged to the highest safety standards including CGA's 4.1 requirements.
  • All Weldcoa's flexible lead assemblies meet CGA E-9 Section 4.1.6 Effusion Requirements as well
  • Minimum Burst is Four Times Maximum Allowable Working Pressure
  • All of Weldcoa's non-metallic lines flexible leads are manufactured using a true PTFE post-sintered innercore; providing the lowest possible effusion rate, the highest flex life and the widest temperature range of any fluoropolymer available. 
  • Weldcoa post-sintered flexible leads have passed several difficult levels of testing either by an independent lab or internally in each stage of production.
  • Adiabatic Testing/Surge Testing has been completed at NASA White Sands Test facility by Jacobs Technology.
  • All Manifolds and leads are made in the USA

FLEXIBLE LEAD REPLACEMENT SUGGESTIONS

Typically a lead is the last item to be specified in a system. In doing so the lead usually is not placed on a maintenance program and subjected to over use.

  • Regular replacement of flexible lead assemblies based on application and use will lead to less down time and improved safety
  • These guidelines assume the lead is in good working order and does not have any of the conditions discussed prior
  • When in doubt replace the lead assembly to ensure maximum safety

Weldcoa recommends the following:

Flexible Leads used on Gas Packs should be replaced every 10,000 Fill Cycles or every 10 years, whichever occurs first.

Please Note: Gas Pack Leads (Double Braided/Post Sintered/3600 PSI MAWP) should be visually inspected before each fill to detect any kinks, frays in the weave or discoloration of the leads. (Gas Packs used in acidic or reactive atmospheres may suffer discoloration.) If any leads are found to have kinks, frays or discoloration the lead needs to be replaced immediately. (Isolate the pack until the damaged lead has been replaced.)  In addition, the leads should be leak checked during every fill cycle.

Flexible Leads used in a Cylinder Fill Facility should be replaced every 10,000 Fill Cycles or every 5 years, whichever occurs first.

Please Note: Fill System Leads (Double Braided/Post Sintered/3600 PSI MAWP) should be visually inspected every morning prior to the first fill of the day to detect any kinks, frays in the stainless-steel weave or discoloration of the leads. If any leads are found to have kinks, frays or discoloration the lead needs to be replaced immediately. (You should never use a damaged lead during the fill process.) In addition, the leads should be leak checked during every fill cycle.

Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is a synthetic fluoropolymer of tetrafluoroethylene. The best known brand name of the PTFE-based formula is Teflon® by Chemours. Chemours is a spin-off of DuPont Co., which discovered the compound in 1938.

The post-sintered process re-bakes the PTFE at a controlled time and temperature, increasing the wall thickness and tightening the molecular bond, which dramatically reduces effusion rate. By making these voids as small as possible it closes the path a gas will follow while under pressure making the PTFE more "dense".

Post-Sintered PTFE provides the lowest effusion rate possible while maintaining the highest flexibility and most robust inner core.

In the gas industry: the higher the effusion rate, the higher the product ($$$$) loss for flexible lead (hose/pigtail) material...Post-Sintered PTFE is your best option.
