Automate and Manage Your Helium Supply

The Auto Cascade Helium System designed specifically to manage the helium supply storage at your facility. Generally broken up into four pressures (storage tube banks) the Helium cascade has two main functions: cascading (transfilling) to fill cylinders and manage the pressures in the storage tubes.

System is supplied with (4) Generant valves for cascade filling, (4) Generant valves for recompression/optimization of tubes, a control box and 3500 PSI MAWP Stainless Steel interconnecting piping. This system is capable of interfacing with your new Weldcoa pump control system saving the filler an enormous amount of time.

Intuitive Automation

When the system called upon to fill, it will look at the pressure in the four zones and will automatically take gas out of the lowest zone first. Then working its way up to the higher pressure zones and if there is sufficient pressure available until the cylinders are full.

If not, it will automatically go back to the lowest pressure zone and direct the gas from the lowest pressure zone to start a compressor or booster pump system to complete the fill cycle. If there is not enough pressure for the compressor or boost pump in the lowest pressure zone the system will switch to the next higher pressure zone.

Time to Optimize

The helium cascade also has an option to “Optimize.” This function is used when cylinders are not required to be filled. When selected to “Optimize” the system the cascade system will look at the pressures in the four zones and direct the gas from the lowest pressure zone to the compressor or boost pump system to fill the highest pressure zone to the upper limit set point. If there is not enough pressure in the lowest zone to complete the filling of the highest pressure zone then the system will automatically switch to the next low pressure zone until the highest pressure zone is full and it will then switch to the next higher pressure zone to attempt to fill this zone up to the upper limit. This ensures that when cylinders are required to be filled again that there is at least one high pressure zone to complete the fill cycle by transfilling rather than depending on the slower compressor and booster system fill times.

Get More Out of Your Trailer

The helium cascade can also use a tube trailer as a “zone,” which means that product can transfilled into the existing three pressure zones putting them all at the “full” level and the tube trailer can be used as the low pressure zone.

This gives the filler the capability of using more product out of the trailer. Also the trailer can be returned quicker and with less product in it.
